Battles and Campaigns

What is the difference between a campaign and a battle? A campaign is a game which takes place over several days or weeks, with breaks in the action. As commander, you must take into account the losses which you are suffering and the reinforcements you might receive while observing the state of the enemy. This creates a more involved experience; you will find yourself deciding whether to fight for every extra inch of territory or cut your losses and withdraw in order to be able to carry on. You will find yourself creating elaborate plans to win the campaign, plans that may take several fights to implement.  After each fight, you must count your losses and decide which reinforcements are the most crucial to acquire. A single mistake can be costly, but a successful engagement can turn the tides.
